Though AlPaGo! isn¡¯t doing a very special
work from others, we really want to create music that makes ourselves and you
guys excited. We wish the public really feel the happiness or sadness from our
lyrics.
Q: Hello, Please give us a brief
self-introduction.
Hello, I am MadDog , a AlPaGo! member from
D.attack Crew. I¡¯m currently living in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do.
Q: Is there any special meaning of your
stage name and team name?
Hmm¡¦ can¡¯t explain why but maddog was my nickname
since I was a child.
Our team name ¡°AlPaGo¡± comes from our deep
love of alcohol.(kk) My friend ¡°Two.S¡± and I were thinking about the team name,
and then ¡°alcohol party¡± occurred to us because we both drink a lot. So we
contracted the word into ¡°AlPaGo¡±.
Q: What¡¯s your role in your team?
My role, well¡¦ take care of my members and
scold at them like a guardian? (giggle)
Q: what
made you decide to start doing music?
I liked hip-hop music before, but after I
was discharged from the military service, Jong-min, our leader asked me to do
it together and he dragged me in. That¡¯s how we started. I didn¡¯t know that one
day I can write songs and stand in the stage. It¡¯s amazing!
Q: When did you start group activities with
your members?
Our Crew stated from 2010 but I joined the
group in 2012. So I have been in the team four years. But it has only been one
month that I formed the AlPaGo! with Two.S and my friends.
Q: What kind of music does your team pursue
and what do you want to do personally?
Freewheeling! The things that people want to write are
different from one to one; we want everyone¡¯s unique characters to be
reflected. Even in Crew team, letting individuals to develop their own
characters is the most important. That¡¯s why I also think we haven¡¯t been
strongly united so far.
Though AlPaGo! isn¡¯t doing a very special
work from others, we really want to create music that makes ourselves and you
guys excited. And we wish the public can
feel the happiness or sadness from our lyrics.
Q: When were most excited
moment and the most difficult time?
Hmm¡¦ when people came to me and said that
your music is great, when I received cheers from audiences in the stage. Those
were the happiest moments for me; I can feel a great sense of accomplishment
when I perform.
When I started doing music, all my friends
were doing well but I couldn¡¯t make any progress. There was a time that I felt I was just
walking around a circle and going nowhere. That was my most difficult moment.
Q: What¡¯s on your playlist? Is there any
song that you want to recommend?
Jolly V¡¯s A Dream and 45RPM¡¯s endure , two
that I really like. They made me rethink about the concept of music. I hope you
get a chance to listen to those songs.
Q: What does Music mean to you?
I think music is the energy of my life and
the reason to dream. I don¡¯t think there
is anything other than music that makes me feel the happiness and the sense of
accomplishment at the same time. I feel confident and not shy at all when I am
making music.
Q: As an artist, what¡¯s your dream?
I guess I have the same dream as other musicians
do, I hope someday my music can be heard in the street. Imaging someday you can
hear my music when you get into a café or walk along Hongdae. That will be
wonderful. (smile)
