Music is my dream
Music is a dream to me. Even I am already 30 years old, even I am exhausted because of work, I still can’t give up music. It is the most important thing to me, that’s it.
Q: Hello, please give us a brief introduction of yourself.
Hello, I am Lee Kyung-won, leader of the D.Attack performing team.
Q: Why do you use your real name instead of rap name?
I had a rap name before but nowadays rappers seem forget their real times while using the rap names. Also I like my real name so I decided to use my real name.
Q: what made you decide to start doing music?
I was just a normal college student who liked music when I was in my 20s. I heard there was a hip-hop club in school so I got in and performed several times. Eventually I found I like standing in the stage more than study. (Since I already wasted the money, I better study music which is the thing that I really like.) So I decided to drop out of school and then went to the art school.
Q: what’s the most memorable moment so far?
I think it was the first performance I had at school, we gathered around 1000 students of our department to a big auditorium and had a concert in front of them. Everyone was so nice and encouraging. That was an unforgettable memory.
Q: When were most excited moment and the most difficult time?
The moment I stand in the stage is the most excited moment for me. It doesn’t matter how many audiences we have, they cheered for us when we were in stage, and they gave us compliments when we finished, those moments are precious and I feel so happy whenever I recall those memories.
Tired? Hmm… I don’t have very difficult times. But when people don’t have any reaction about our performance that we planned and prepared seriously, it is hurting. Anyhow, performers will be more energetic and passionate when there are more audiences.
Q: What does music mean to you?
Music is a dream to me. Even I am already 30 years old, even I am exhausted because of work, I still can’t give up music because it is the most important thing to me, that’s it.
Q: What do you have on your playlist, is there any song you want to recommend?
I have all Epik High and Younha’s songs.
Personally, I want to recommend Younha’s English version of My Song And, [편한가봐](Comfortable), [추억은 아름다운 기억](beautiful memory), [혜성] (comet)
Q: Is there any artist you want to collaborate with in the future?
If you mean famous singers, I want to have a chance to work with Tablo, Younha, Lee Hae-ri. If you say active artist in Hongdae, I wish I can collaborate with솔라시도(Soulrasido), 어센틱 키즈(authentic kids) if I have a chance in the future.
Q: What’s your future plan?
Our planning team and performance team are operating separately now. The performance team will keep practicing hard and the planning team will keep coming up with new ideas. Also we will keep trying to work with other artists to make more good shows, please gave us more faith and anticipate our performance.
