Q: Hello, please give us a brief introduction of yourself.
Hi, I’m D.Attack’s representative Hong Jong-min.
Q: Is there any special meaning of your name?
The full name of D.Attack is Defence Attack, because we don’t want to do music under the pressure from outside. We want to show others our own style.
Q: what made you decide to start doing music?
I was a rapper. My hometown Songtan has a US troop base so I had a lot of foreign friends when I was young. We all like hip-hop and we used to dance and have barbeque together. And one day after I heard Drunken tiger’s song, the idea of “we can rap in Korean” occurred to me, which made me excited and then I started my music journey.
Q: Who has influences on your music?
Drunken tiger, Yoon Mi-rae, Garion, Tech N9ne, G-Unit, 2pac, jay-z, Dj Premier… actually we learnt a lot from others but we want to create something different, something with our own characters.
Q: what’s D.Attack’s goal or keyword?
“Coexitence”. Everyone is having a hard life but the same goal we shared makes us stay together. We will always follow our goals and make the best performance through management; we want to be a happy community; we want to go beyond Korea and to be a recognized ENT in the world.
Q: what’s the most touching song to you?
A group song called [불한당가]. That was a sample before and we remade it. It was very popular among Korean and foreigners.
Q: What does music mean to you?
A close brother, music is kindred to me.
Q: what’s your future plan?
We will make more cool performance plans with our D.Attack’s own special characters and I wish our artists’ mixtapes or albums can be hot in the market. Also we want to collaborate with foreign artists to make more interesting performances. Please follow us!
