Q. Hello! Please introduce yourself briefly.
Hello, I am Gyu-young Park known as Gyu-young in Radical Kontrast Crew.
Q. What is your charm that no one has?
I guess my music is more charming than me. The charm of my music is honesty; I compose songs based on momentary feelings such as ‘I am very happy now’. Many audiences told me my music is very honest.
Q. How did you started to do music?
Hmm, I am 24 years old now. I started my music when I was 18 years old around August. At that time, my family had financial problem, and that caused me to write journals. Suddenly an idea came up to my mind that I should start music. I went to ‘Swings’ to get personal lesson and get relieve my hard feelings.
Q. Were there any artists those influenced you?
When I think of my history, Korean artists ‘Swings’ and ‘Verbaljint’ influenced me the most, and Jay-z and Eminem, Kendric Lamar, and Kanye West. I still like all of them.
Q. Is there any music keyword or style?
I try to write song honestly mainly focus on momentary feelings. I used to prefer strong and energetic music before, but I would like to expand my spectrum in these days.
Q. Do you compose songs in these days? Where do you get inspiration for your music?
I record the song in the crew team studio, and write lyrics at home. Dawn is very important time for me to get inspiration. Also, my loneliness helps me to get more music inspiration. Whenever I get rest, I do watch movies, read books, and listen to good music to get indirect experience.
Q. When was your most memorable concert?
I remember the time I had a concert in Sung-ui Woman’s University. Way before in the past, I had my first concert when I was 20, and there were only 2 people watching me. I had no idea what to do, and even audiences are very few. I also work as staff right now; this helps me to know more on how the stage is prepared, and how my concert will be in high quality.
Q. When was your best and hardest moment in your music career?
The best moment was that when someone admits my music. The hardest moment was that I suffer of thinking ‘Is this the right way to go?’ I also had financial problems too.
Q. Do you have your own playlist?
[I want to stop thinking] of Swings, [TOO YOUNG] of Post Malone, [GOOD KID MAD CITY] of Kendrick Lamar, [SKY’S THE LIMIT] of Notorious B.I.G. are my life long music. Maybe I should add [Panda] of Designer as my favorite too.
Q. Do you have any future plan as an artist?
My plan is to release double singles in upcoming June, and also release EP with 8 track songs around august to September. I can put my own story and colors to these songs. My dream goal is to improve myself continuously as an artist. I had time to do some experiments by making mix tape. I think the most important thing is to continuously work hard, and don’t stop of doing what you wanted to do, and show it to the public audience. I want to do music without caring anyone’s comment, and earn money a lot.
